IPhone and Apple Carplay

i have a 4 port Anker USB to which I put in a flash drive containing music and at the same time I want to connect my iPhone to Apple CarPlay but the phone won’t connect. Any solutions to this problem?

The phone won't communicate with CarPlay unless it's plugged directly into the USB. Using USB hubs isn't supported.

USBC cable for Carplay I have an old iphone 6 that I plug into my Carplay with a normal USB cable. I am about to upgrade to the iphone 12, how does this connect to the Carplay. Can i use the same USB cable or do i need a new one?
