CarPlay not working with iPhone 15pro

Hello there, I have jeep grand Cherokee 2019 model. I was using iPhone 13 and CarPlay was working good with usb cable. Now I got iPhone 15 but my CarPlay is not working. I have usb port attach to my car. So used lightning to usb-c adapter to connect my phone. But still car play is not working.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17

My new Iphone won't connect to Carplay in my car, I've brought the right cable to manually connect but it still will not connect. I've taken my car to the dealer and they couldn't get it to sync either. I've done all the other suggestions for the car and the phone: they don't work....ugh Apple fix this now!!!

I upgraded from an iPhone Pro Max 13 to 15. I have a Toyota Yaris SX 2022 with wired Apple CarPlay. I bought a cheap cable from Amazon with USB and USB C, claiming it will work for Apple Carpkay for IPhone 15.

It simply would not work.

the. I bought some connectors suggested. It would not work.

Last resort. I went to the Apple Store and bought the Belkin Boost Charge USB C to USB, about $35. The person at the store said he heard many times when people buy the cheap versions it just won’t work. I got to my car, connected the Belkin cord to my car USB and phone…… AND IT WORKED IMMEDIATELY. Hopefully this advice will work for others. For my car an immediate solution.

I had this same issue with iPhone 15 and 2019 Toyota RAV4 which has the regular usb port receiver (not usb-c). I’ve noticed that it works fine only under the following circumstances: 1) iPhone battery charge must close to full; 2) you need an usb-c to regular usb adapter plugged in your car, 3) do not select a phone when prompted to do so. Then select CarPlay when either your car display or your phone shows the CarPlay icon.

Before realizing this, I tried my iPhone in mi daughter’s 2019 Acura and it connected with CarPlay directly without all the drama. But Apple has to do something about this. It’s a really annoying issue.

**PROBLEM SOLVED** This issue has been driving me nuts with my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and iPhone 15 Pro. Carplay would SOMETIMES work, but if you even touched the usb cable, it would disconnet, and sometime wouldn't connect at all. I tried several different cables with the same issue so i was convinced that it couldn't be the cable until i realized that Apple states that carplay will work with a 480Mbps cable, not all 480Mbps cables are created equal. The Belkin BoostCharge Braided USB-C to USB-A Cord finally worked! Got mine on Amazon here: https://a.co/d/eiZZWMh

After almost a year of struggling with this, it is finally resolved.

Apple, please fix this. I found one post that helped me connect, requiring me to disconnect WiFi and Bluetooth, forget the phone from the car and the car from the phone, restart the phone and car, and then try to connect via a wired connection. Only then could I disconnect and go wireless. It lasted the trip, but as soon as I turned the car off and back on, the connection dropped again. It took five minutes to do all that…. Can’t do that every time I get in the car.

I have a 2015 Odyssey elite with a after market Carpuride Car play, W103 Pro. And a I phone 15 pro max. on the latest software, I just bought the car, so I don't know if it would have worked before the Upgrades. It

will connect wireless to the Carpuride, But I am stuck with AAC. Wireless cannot handle Lossless. It will work Connected to the USB, in I-pod mode, to my Car, and play fine. It will work connected to The Aux in, with a dragonfly , and play my music, even Lossless, to AUX. It will NOT find my phone wired to the USB, in USB mode no matter what cable I use. It will answer the phone in Honda link, But I have to switch back to what ever mode I was in after the call, It can't be the USB, since it works in I pod mode. In USB Mode it says No device detected, or incomparable devise, It can't be the Cable, it works in I-pod mode, But NOT usb mode. It has to be a software issue, since it works in some modes, and NOT others. I have tried Many Cables. I am thinking it is something Apple must address in a update.

Troubleshooting CarPlay:

For me, it takes a few tries to get it to pair, most certainly...

A. Usual Manual:

Read your driver's manual to find out more about syncing this.

B. Re-Pair this, while in Park:

Unpair your device from your car, and then par it. For many, they must have their automobile in park to get this to all pair.

Still having issues?

Troubleshooting CarPlay:

A. "Forget this Device"

See if you need to "forget the device", and then add the new one.

B. Whom to Contact:

Contact your Carrier, as they are the one who provide you with the service of Voicemail.

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.   Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. These are just user-to-user forums.  Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

I finally got my 15 to work on car play after ALL the tricks didn’t work! My son came over and showed me to hook up to a data/file transfer cord not just a charger cord! They sell them right along side the regular charger but it says it on the package! They sell them even at five below.

it will still also charge your phone. This tether is literally the only one that works on his car or my car and we both have 2024 cars and iPhone 15s.

I have this same issue! I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and my iPhone 14 connected to CarPlay using a cable no problem. Just bought an iPhone15 and it won’t work! I’ve tried multiple cables (apple, heyday, anker) with and without adapters etc., nothing works! I’m so frustrated as I rely on CarPlay every day, especially the ability to use my Apple Maps visibly in my car display. I almost got into an accident trying to navigate directions audibly only. I’m most likely going to take back the iPhone and go back to my iPhone 14.
