FCP 10.5.1 No Longer Supports VIMEO Export?

My FCP recently autoupdated to FCP 10.5.1 and my presets to export to VIMEO accounts have disappeared. Not only that, but there doesn't seem to be any way to replicate that feature. Why would you get rid of that? I already know I can export the file normally and upload to VIMEO manually. Why lose the integration? If it moved, could you please let me know?

I also freaked out about this today when I updated my FCP to 10.5.1

HOWEVER… I thought I should then move to the VIMEO app for macOS as it's a desktop uploader.

Upon doing this, it turns out that it connects to FCP and once you set up the VIMEO app, you'll then have the ability to share directly to VIMEO from FCP again.

It also gives you way more options now than it did before.

So it seems they may have removed it to improve it via this process.

I'm testing it now to verify how simple it is.

It may mean always being logged in to VIMEO via the desktop app.

BUT, it's back in my FCP.

I did find that if you download VIMEO's MAC OS Desktop app, and login to a single account, you can then export directly to VIMEO using that app, but it's a little complicated and not intuitive to setup and it only allows you access to a single account. You have have to log out and then back into to a different VIMEO user account in order to directly upload from FCPX.

Hopefully this will be fixed. That's nonsense.

Just had the same problem... FCPX 10.5.1 since recent update will not upload to Vimeo which I use professionally.

I have been a great lover of Apple for years, but since Catalina arrived it has been nothing but business grief because of iMac and external hard drives destruction.

I recently uploaded to Big Sur only to find that when using FCPX it did no longer support Pixel Film Studios FCPX Timer.

All I could do is go though the torture of rebuilding my iMac again and revert back to Catalina otherwise an important FCPX project I have been working on for months would be wrecked.

Dear Apple you need to consider these awful effects your updates are having on peoples' businesses.

Can anyone (Apple or Vimeo) make a case for why this feature appears to be going in the wrong direction? I mean this seriously, am I missing the logic, or a hidden benefit? I need to move quickly and export to more than one account, so am confused why adding steps and slowing the vid dev process was an apparent programming choice?

Agreed. This is why I am loathe to do upgrades and updates. At least they warned us about losing QT7 and obsolete video formats. But they didn't give us an easy way to check our footage for compatibility until after an uproar.

Yeah, more often than not, if not always, something breaks or disappears. And often without notice!

Technical recommendation: Check carefully for features that will break or go bye-bye when you apply an update or upgrade. There should be release notes that tells us not only new features, but what will break or go bye-bye.
