Entering text in info panel loses focus

I'm trying to add keywords to my photos, but it's proving difficult. I select a photo and open the Info panel (Command-I). Then I click in the "keywords" field and try to enter some keywords. After I type the first keyword and press enter, it adds the keyword; however, then the field loses focus and I have to click on the field again before I can enter another keyword. Also sometimes the input just randomly loses focus, even when I'm in the middle of typing and it loses what I have typed. This behavior is making it extremely difficult to add keywords to my thousands of photos.

Thank you for asking this. I find it so frustrating as I try to enter data into the info field - after a few letters it just loses focus. Sometime it won't allow me to enter anything until I click back into another field first, then return to original place. How is this happening in 2021 with Photos, which has been around for many years? I will give feedback to Apple, with little to no confidence it will make any difference :/

Thanks “BarelyFitz” for reporting this. I reported the same issue via Feedback Assistant back in February. No response. Every time I use Photos I run into it. I wondered if I was the only one who routinely tried to tag photos with multiple keywords.

Today I decided to check the Apple forums: https://discussions.apple.com/search?q=photos+info+loses+focus finds 600 results!!

I guess it is not just me. 🤷🏻‍♂️
