Changing Out a SIM card from one iPhone 5s to another used iPhone 5s

My company gave me an iPhone when it came out. I use an 11 personally. Mine is getting old and one of the guys gave me his, that he never used, both iPhone 5s's. I changed out the SIM card but all the info comes up as his. He gave me his code to get into the phone. I just do not know what to do for this new iPhone to recognize my SIM card? I just want to see my information with my SIM card in the newer phone.

It appears I may need to get his Apple username and password to get this done. I erased settings, when I put my SIM card in the phone I want to use, it shows my number but that is about it. I cannot turn of Find My without the previous owners Apple info. I need that to download my phone to this phone. He is out of state. I believe I am on the right track here, but if there is anything I am missing, please add to the string!
