Finder Window within Apps Big Sur 11.1

The window configuration for saving or opening files within applications defaults back to a smaller size when restarting an app. It used to remember (in 11.01 and previous) what the window size for finder would be, now have to adjust manually to see the full sidebar, etc. Related.. the image capture app shows same behavior, it won't remember how I had the app window previously configured. Work around? Bug?

The application open and save panels are built from classes and methods found in the Apple AppKit framework (Library), and are designed to appear as Finder windows, but they are not, and unlike Finder, the application does not remember their user resizing.

For Big Sur 11.1, Apple botched the default size used in that framework for these panels, and that is the reason for the miniscule open and save panels, not only in Apple applications, but affecting any third-party application that uses them in Big Sur 11.1. There is no permanent user fix for this issue, and Apple, provided they are listening to the growing user feedback, will need to fix this oversight in a future release of Big Sur.
