why my Apple id locked 2 time in a row , this happened twice in the last week ?

this message displayed in the settings and asks me to log in to my apple id.

after logging in , it asks me to go to my email and unlock the account , there is a iforget.apple.com link in the email and i can unlock apple id with the link and log in again to my appleid .

One possibility is someone may be trying to log into your Apple ID and entered the wrong password too many times, which locks the ID.

You might want to consider changing your password and making sure it is a strong one. You can also add 2 Factor Authentication to your account for more security. If the attempts continue, you might want to consider a name change.

This happened to me also this week. First on Monday and again today, Wednesday. in the event that someone is trying to access my account, shouldn't I also get an email saying something? I'd hate to have to change my password or worst case change my Apple ID altogether!

I do not have two-factor authentication enabled and I would prefer not to if I can avoid it. but I have 10 active devices associated with my account, and each time this happens, I have to be sure to go around and re-authenticate all of them. Not to mention the devices I haven't used in a while!

It's just a pain to have to unlock each device like this when I don't know why? If I got an email prompt saying Hey, someone is trying to access your account, if this was you, do nothing. If it was not you, maybe change your password...Or something like that :-)
