Voicemail tab is missing in default “Phone” app

Apparently my voicemail tab has been missing for weeks and weeks (I had no idea because I stopped receiving the push notifications that would typically show up there).

I read another user’s thread and Apple Support just said to restart and to update to most recent OS. I’ve done both of those many times but to no avail.

Please help!

My voicemail tab on my phone is missing. When I go to the phone app it won’t open either.

I just realized I have this issue also. My OS is up to date and I’ve tried restarting my phone . I can’t even call to check my voicemail because I don’t know the password and the option to reset the password is gone from the phone settings menu.

I'm also having this same issue. As shown on the photo above the VoiceMail tab is MISSING so the two recommendations aren't possible because they require clicking on that tab.

When I reset my phone, it comes back and then disappears again. What good is a phone that can't access voicemail?

I have the most up to date OS, Also restarted phone. Nothing is bringing the tab up. I called myself from another phone and left VM. Not getting notified banner pop up but I am showing notification on my telephone. The Voicemail icon is just gone. Not sure how long its been gone. Called my voice mail and had VM over a couple weeks old. Apple whats the solution as it appears multiple users are experiencing this.

I'm experiencing the same issue. When I called my vm I found messages 3 weeks old, so it's not been working for at least that long. I only got the phone in November and visual voicemail was working then, so I don't think it's a carrier issue. I've now set up text notifications for my voicemail by phoning it so that at least I'll now know if someone's left a message, but it sounds like a few people are experiencing problems. Apple...you need to find a fix please!!

Hello alocracy,

We understand your voicemail option is missing, and we'd like to help get it back. Restarting your device and ensuring it is up-to-date are great troubleshooting steps. Since the issue has persisted ensure your voicemail is set up correctly on your device, and with your carrier. The following resources can help:

Check your voicemail on iPhone

Set up Visual Voicemail on your iPhone

Take care.

I was having the same issue. I called my phone number from my iPhone to listen to my voicemail. The voicemail tab still wasn’t there but the phone app showed that I had notifications. I then restarted my phone and the voicemail tab magically appeared. I hope this works for you as well!

Try calling your own number from your actual iPhone (the one that’s not showing notifications), you should be able to listen to your voicemails there. Once I did that the phone app showed that I had notifications, then I restarted my phone and the voicemail tab showed up again.

Same here mine happens frequently since I got this phone less then a 6 months ago.. I have had to call my carrier and they have me do the same things even a hard shut off.. it’s frustrating. I only check my voice mail if I see I have a message notification. I had missed a important phone call due to this.
