Wacom Intuos Pro buggy behavior with Photoshop on Mac Mini

I upgraded from an old basic Intuos tablet to a new Intuos Pro PTH660. I use the tablet for painting with PS. The brush tools will only work for a few minutes before they begin randomly cycling to other tools I have not chosen - the most common ones it cycles to are the Move tool, the color picker, and the zoom tool. If PS doesn't crash, the actions these rogue tools take do not show up in PS History so they cannot be undone, which ruins whatever I'm working on. Usually, the cycle will proceed until Photoshop crashes. The mac itself does not crash.

None of this behavior occurred with the old tablet. I have posted for help on Adobe forums as well, and have requested support from Wacom, but historically when I've had problems that involved stuff from other vendors, I've still gotten better advice here than anywhere else, so I'm hoping someone here will have some clues for me.
