How long does iOS update 14.3 take? I gets so far then doesn’t move for a long time

I’ve been having the exactly same problem with my iPhone 7. Mine has also got fast internet speeds and plenty of storage but just keeps getting stuck at the end of preparing update. This issue also happened on my iPad Pro. I did leave this device on its own for a while and it installed the update so it’s not like it won’t install at all.

Google says the preparing update stage can take up to 20 mins. The full upgrade process can take up to an hour.

I think for us it is failing in the preparing update stage. It stays there for a long time. Phone resets. iOS 14.01 still on phone, upgrade starts at downloading again. :( plenty of memory on phone. Fast internet also and plugged in so why does the upgrade fail?

It's so frustrating to get a new iphone 12 thats only been around for a couple of weeks and IOS 14.3 is not loaded onto it - it's taking over 30 minutes to install update - etc... Im sorry but this is ridiculous - and btw my internet speeds are very fast .....

I was also facing same issue while transferring data from iPhone 6 to iPhone 11 which was on ios 14.2. Waited for more than hour for software upgrade to ios 14.3 then start over again in between of install process. Second time it took 20 mins to upgrade to ios 14.3.

My IOS 14.3 Update has been saying "Preparing Update......" forever. Hoe long can this take?

Depends on the device, the connection and how your downloading it. So it's an open ended question when we have such little information

I am updating from iOS 13.5 though, so obviously it would take longer than updating from iOS 14.2
