Itunes Crashing When Updating Ipad

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to update my ipad air from ios 9.3 to 12.5 via itunes.

Whenever installing, it does extracting software, the backing up data, then it crashes.

Tried disabling AV and Windows firewall on my windows 10 machine that I am using but it didn't help.

Problems updating my iPad using my computer I don't have enough memory to update my iPad Air to 13.3.1, so I connected my iPad via USB and went into iTunes. iTunes is v 12.10.4.2 The iPad is 12.4.1 While I've tried several times re-booting both my Windows 7 PC and the iPad, after "Extracting Software", the PC gives a pop-up window "iTunes could not back up the ipad because the backup session failed. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPad and try again". As noted earlier, I've tried the disconnection and rebooting several times with the same result. Any coaching how to get my iPad updated considering it only has 1.38G available and I'm running Windows 7 Professional, Version 6.1 (build 7601: service pack 1) and have plenty of disk? Thank you!

itunes corrupted download i have an ipad air that i am continuously getting "software for ipad was corrupted during download". how do i get around this as after 20+ times i'm growing tired of this. it's an apple product using an apple app.... should be as simple as download and update. it attempts to update to ios 12.5.3, which from what i can find is the latest available for this "apple" product. i have made an icloud backup also. any help would be much appreciated.

Hey there MS_1985,

We're sure you're eager to get your iPad updated. First, please make sure you're running the most updated version of iTunes on your PC. You'll also want to install any updates available for Windows. At that point you can try placing the iPad in recovery to update. Take a look at the steps listed below.
