Iphone 4 syncing music but not showing on phone

I have been trying to do this for 2 days and I am unable to get it to work. I have sync'd my new iphone 4 to itune (all ok!) when trying to put on a play list from itune to the phone it "says" it's done it but when i go to my phone (the ipod app) it doesn't show anything in there.

I have been through and sync'd it with the play list clicked and then un clicked it and re-sync'd it so it deleted it again. it does show up on the itunes sync page (when phone is connected) as having 952.46 mb of music on there (which would be the playlist) but when i go back to ipod on the phone (again) there is nothing there.

I have sync'd and un-sync'd so many times I just don't get it! The itunes panel says it is on teh phone but the phone can't find it.....

I know th emusic works as it's all on my actual ipod and i play it at work etc so I nkow teh music is teh right format for apple etc just don't know where it can be hiding on the phone!

Any help would be very welcome! 🙂

Just to signal that this is STILL an open issue (despite - or because of - updating to latest OS) :

Iphone full of music (only 1G left out of the 27G or so)
No music in iphone music app except the recently purchased
Syncing does nothing because Itunes shows all my music as already present on the Iphone

I've finally figured it out. It's kind of dumb how I didn't find this out earlie. To get your music synced in go to itunes library and click on songs. You'll see all the songs you have and a "check" beside them. For me, I had specific songs that weren't going into my phone when I synced. You need to make sure those songs are checked and then when you sync it should be in your iphone/ipod music library.

The same thing happened to me. After much research/frustration, I disabled the firewall on my computer and then sync'd my phone. After 5 hours, only 1,000 of my 2,000+ songs had downloaded, so I went to bed, but the good thing is... it worked!

Use any phone explorer and delete under itunes_control folder:

Sync

Music

and under itunes_control\iTunes all MediaLibrary.sqlitedb files.

then reboot phone and sync

What worked for me (iOS 7, ITunes 11.2.2.3): click on your device icon (with the label "iPhone" on it); now select "Music" tab; check "Sync Music" checkbox; click "Sync" button. That's it.
