I have a list of expenses categorized according to who made them - e.g. Bob's expenses, Alice's expenses, etc. The categories are just plain text I entered into a column
At the bottom, I want there to be a subtotal for each person. E.g. Paid by Bob (Total), Paid by Alice (Total). If I also add an additional person, eg. John, then this person's subtotal would appear at the bottom as well.
Is this possible?

Formula in cell C13 =SUMIF(B2:B9,$A13,C2:C9)
Fill down.
Or consider two tables to make it easier to add new rows. The formula will automatically adjust to the whole columns:
Formula in Table 2 B2 =SUMIF(Table 1::B,$A2,Table 1::C)

Thanks a lot for answering both of my questions! However, is there a way to automatically add a subtotal for a new person if I add that new person in the expenses list? e.g. I add a new lined "Paid by Andrew" and a new line in the subtotal named "Andrew appears"
