I got a message of a malware on my MacBook Air. I didn't have the latest IOS update installed. Now, I would like to purchase an antivirus for my Mac. What is the best antivirus for Macbook Air? TIA

Just close the website that gives you this message. It's a scam. You don't need to install an antivirus app on your Mac. If you want to check for malware: download and install the free Malwarebytes https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/index.html

None. Do not install any third party antivirus apps. The notice you received was likely a scam phishing attempt.
