brand new xbox controller (xbox/win/android/iOS) connecting via bluetooth to brand new apple tv (4k-32), but not functioning (both have firmware up-to date)
If you have the 2020 model Xbox Controller Model 1914, then that one is not yet supported.

TV iOS 14.5(beta) supports Xbox Controller Model 1914. You can become a beta tester here...
it works. you need to download latest version of Apple TV OS 14.5 and update your controller.
Please hurry and support this model 1914 xbox controller. I bought this from Microsoft website and its all they sell now. I'd rather not go backwards and buy an older model as it seems this newer model offers more features.

That depends on how patient you are. It will happen, but I have no clue on the schedule or priority of the update that will include this.
This is hugely frustrating. I am in the same boat. If you are advertising that you can connect an Xbox controller to Apple TV, it should connect with the most current Xbox controller.
