Hello so I have an Ipad air 2 that won't turn on. I have charged it for quite some time now and tried to hold the home and power button for a long time as well, but no succes. So when I charge the Ipad the backlight turns on and there is some flickering, after a couple of seconds the apple logo shows up on a white background and then the Ipad just turns off. Any help? Is the battery maybe faulty?

It sounds like you need to get your iPad diagnosed. It's up to you where you would like to have your iPad treated, but if you'd like to have Apple take a look at it, or just chat with an Apple Specialist to start off with, go to this page: https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=psp&PRKEYS=
Once you're there, select iPad, click on Battery and Charging, then you'd want to select "Unable to power on". You may then choose what method you'd like to go through. I wish I could help you more, but this isn't something that sounds like it can be treated over this platform.
