Is it safe to use a cracked phone?

So I dropped my iPhone 8 and it has a crack on the back, I was wondering if it’s still safe to use?

Hello MarianneBlackmore,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We see you have a question about a cracked iPhone, and we'd like to help answer.

Even though the functionality of your iPhone should not be affected by a crack in the back housing, a crack in the glass is considered a safety hazard. Best to have your iPhone serviced to avoid being cut by a sharp edge.
