Cannot Find Screen Rotation Option (to Portrait Mode) on MacBook Pro 2019 15" Big Sur 11.0.1

Hello,

I'm planning on purchasing a monitor with portrait (vertical) display to use as a second screen to my MacBook. However, I couldn't figure out how to rotate the display of my MacBook. Google searches tell me that there is a rotation option at the System Preferences -> Display but as can be seen from the screenshot, there isn't such an option. Pressing CMD, Option keys doesn't help either.

Does this mean my MacBook doesn't support portrait display? Can I still use the external screen vertically while using my Macbook in landscape mode (normal display)? If it is not supported by Apple, are there any reliable extensions (tools) that enable me to use portrait mode?

My follow up question is, would I be able to use one screen vertically and one screen horizontally?

Can I choose the screens in which I want vertical display?

Am I the only one who thinks this is absurd? Why wouldn't there be an option to rotate the display unless there's a second display connected?

with all respect, I have a Lenovo external display which works on Windows and Linux (not making this up) no problem, but I didn't see the rotation option when I connected to Mac (Big Sur). I think it's probably Mac OS issue (not sure if Apple did it intentionally or unintentionally though)

technically even with one build-in screen, it should still allow the owner (which is yourself and me) to allow to rotate the screen when we want (just like any other OS)

hope Apple fixes this *issue* in later upgrades.
