Iphone 6 could not be restored, disk is full

Hi - my iphone 6 is stuck on the Apple logo which means I cannot turn it on past this point. I need to restore the phone but I am getting a message to say it cant restore due to the disk being full. The message suggests removing files and emptying the recycle bin will help this. Can someone help me get this device restored?
