Macbook pro 2018 horizontal lines

Hi.

My 2018 model Macbook Pro with touchbar suddenly has horizontal lines across its screen. It's similar to the case reported here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252003433 (I've used his photo here).

There's no Apple store in my country so I brought it an authorised dealer. The repair would cost about $600 but it's not my fault. Shouldn't Apple provide some sort of compensation for this? It's just 2 years old (by Dec 2020) and I didn't damage it in any way.

If I took a screenshot, you wouldn't be able to see it, which suggests it's a hardware issue. Does anyone have any idea?

Things fail and if it is out of warranty, then you need to pay for the repair.

Yes I have seen this horizontal line issue on several of our organization's 2016+ MBPros, but it is a minimal number compared to the other issues we've experienced. These 2016+ USB-C Macs have multiple design flaws and very poor implementations which cause much higher failure rates (plus more expensive & time consuming repairs) even compared with older Retina models, but Apple insists on sticking with a broken design since they don't see it as a problem since people keep buying these laptops.

If you don't like it you can provide product feedback to Apple here:

You can also contact Apple corporate to let them know how you feel plus you can check out any local consumer protection laws. You can also vote with your wallet and purchase a computer from another manufacturer.

Single-Out the Screen:

Try attaching this to an external video device (i.e. monitor or projector). If you still get the error, then I would assume it is the macOS - not the screen. So, if that ends up being the case, you'd go about reinstalling the macOS. For a 2018 MacBook Pro, use this adapter, so that you do not lose the ability to connect your USB-C power charge.
