Amazon Alexa on Downtime Always Allowed Apps

I want to add the Amazon Alexa app to “Always Allowed” on screen time. However, the app doesn’t show up on screen time at all. When I go to the always allowed section, the app isn’t there. And, if I go to App Limits > Add Limits, it’s not there either, under any of the categories. Can someone explain why the app just isn’t there at all? I’m sure I have the app installed; it’s being blocked during Downtime. But I can’t change find it in Screen Time at all. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

Hi mrspike06,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with the Amazon Alexa app and Downtime.

It sounds like you aren't able top exclude the app from Downtime. Double-check all the steps here: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Next, try these steps since this is a third-party app: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open. Note step 5. You may need to contact Amazon to see if the Alexa app is eligible to be on the Always Allowed list.

Have a fantastic day!
