Iphone 11 HDR Deep fusion does not work well on front camera - bad selfie

Hi!

i just bought an iphone 11 , 3 weeks ago in the US.

I’ve noticed that the front camera takes pictures that seem underexposed with high contrast and a few stronger shadows. Especially in daylight.

i remember my last iphone xr took pictures with a smoother appearance, the sample poster of how an HDR pic looks.

I was wondering if this is normal?

i now turn the exposure higher to take a good picture woth the front camera.

i mean the quality of the picture is not bad, is just the lighting that looks a tiny bit off, darkish or shadowy. I cant edit it on lightroom and it looks good.

but it is quite annoying to edit every single picture

Is this normal?

To illustrate my point here is a collage of pictures of well my forehead.

they are all in the same room and in aimilar lightning.

the first one was taken with the iphone 11 and all the other ones with iphone xr.

there is a differences in how the iphone 11 shoots lights and shadow together.

I don’t know if this is how the new hdr generation should look. Because it honestly reminds me of my old compact cameras

Hello.

actually yes. In every mode and in the front and main camera. The photo is a bit dark white high contrast between shadows and light. I have to up the level of exposure to get more of an accurate color . Is this a software issue?. i had to update my phone to ios 14.3 through itunes because I lost my password.

I’m not sure if this is the normal way the iphone 11 takes pictures: because my photos woth the xr were very different
