HomePod Mini Not Recognizing Multiple Voices

I'm trying to set up a new HomePod Mini to recognize my other family members' voices. I've gone through all the steps listed in this article:

I've also gone through, for one additional user, all the steps listed in that article under "If Siri doesn't recognize you." Still not working. Siri on the HomePod just keeps saying "I'm not sure who's speaking." Home settings on my phone and the additional user's list her as a member of the home and that Siri can recognize her voice. But Siri can't actually recognize her voice.

My last resorts are going to be

wiping the HomePod clean and setting up again with all family members present, rather than trying to add them after setup.
calling apple support

But perhaps someone out there has a fix? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I had the same issue. The problem with the second user was that their iCloud was not turned on for Siri. Go to Settings>Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases>iCloud>Siri>On.

I figured this out after speaking with several “geniuses” in Apple support (four separate calls, ending with recommendation to return the items). Once the iCloud setting for Siri was turned on, no more voice recognition issues. Hopefully this works for you.
