I am enrolled in a protection plan with my carrier that includes apple care but I would like to cancel that plan and switch to just the apple care. Is this possible? (My device has already been enrolled in apple care through the carrier’s program)

I am already enrolled in apple care through the T-Mobile protection plan. However, I would like to switch to just using apple care and canceling the T-Mobile plan. Is this possible? (My device is already enrolled in apple care through T-Mobile but I’m not sure how it will effect my device when I cancel it)

You should be able to as long as you're withing the specified time period. I doubt what you had before was AppleCare, just a third party extended warranty.
