How to remove an anchor?

I imported a docx file to pages and a lot of the images are anchored. How can I remove these anchors?

Microsoft is the developer of the software in which the MS Word document was created and from which the MS Word was saved in .docx format.

But when that fie was opened in Pages, The Pages application translated the file into Pages' internal language, producing a Pages document. Apple was the developer of the software that pr0duced the Pages version of the file.

In a Pages file, images (and other objects) are set to either "move with text" or to "stay on page." A "stay on page" setting 'anchors' )or 'pins' the object to a position at a fixed down and right of the top left corner of the section containing that object.

The settings may be changed in the Arrange section of the Format Inspector

In the Pages document created by importing a .docx file, .docx try this:

Click on the image to select it.

Look at the corners of the image, If you see this:

The object may be set to either of the choices in the Inspector's Arrange panel. You should be able to drag the image to a different location.

If you see this:

The object is set to stay on page, and is Locked in place. To move it, you will first need to visit the Arrange menu (in the Menu /bar, not the Inspector) to Unlock it.

Barry
