Connecting Xbox Controller to 2015 MacBook Pro on BigSur

Has anyone had success doing this? I had a wired xbox controller connected to my 2015 MacBook Pro working fine with a downloaded driver. But after updating to Big Sur, I can't use the wired Xbox Controller. I read online that you could use a wireless Xbox Controller, so I just bought that but I can't get it to connect to Bluetooth. It worked for a few seconds, but when I tried to use it, the buttons were not working correctly and then it just disconnected from Bluetooth altogether. So now it won't connect to Bluetooth. Has anyone had similar issues? Or does anyone else have the ability to use an Xbox Controller on their 2015 MacBook pro? Is there a better controller to use? I could always return this one if need be.

Thanks in advance,

Eddie

Greetings eddie8401,

We understand that you are having some difficulty connecting a controller to your Mac, and we'd like to help.

First, make sure you're following all the steps in this article when connecting your wireless controller to your Mac computer:

Connect a wireless game controller to your Apple device

If you're still unable to connect, create a new, test user account on your Mac to see if the issue continues there:

Set up users, guests and groups on Mac

Once that has been done, Contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Take care.
