Best Game Controller for MacOS Big Sur

I was using a wired Xbox Controller with Catalina, but after upgrading to Big Sur, it is no longer usable. I purchased a wireless Xbox Controller to see if I can connect via Bluetooth, but it doesn't work. The button configuration is wrong and it causes my mouse to act all screwy. What are your recommendations for the best game controller on a Mac with the latest OS? Please only make suggestions if they have worked for you on the latest OS (Big Sur 11.1). My computer is a Mid 2015 MacBook Pro Intel.

Thanks in advance,

Eddie

I have a Steelseries Nimbus (original not the newer + version) and an xBox controller (model 1708). They both connect via Bluetooth (I have an iMac running Big Sur). The older driver for xbox controllers doesn't work under Big Sur.

Now, what controller will work with what game is the question. Apple Arcade - at least in my experience - prefers the Steel Series Nimbus for which all the games I have tried work. Some games in Arcade will work with the Xbox controller, some won't even see the controller. I purchased the Xbox controller because I wanted to play the three newer Tomb Raider games on my iMac and the developer said that the Steel Series Nimbus (which is a MFi) controller won't work properly. The game sees the controller but the directions of the joystick is backwards. It does work perfectly with the Xbox controller.
