Restore from a Time Machine Backup:
Did you Create a Time Machine Backup prior to this? I strongly recommend doing so, for the sake of losing all of your data and needing to restore your device.
How to:
You would start by creating a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with this Mac. Use an External Hard Drive at least 1.5 Times the Hard Drive storage. Go Here: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support.
If you don’t Create One:
If you end up not making one, and then the MacOS gets deleted, then you’d have to take this as a learning experience, knowing to always create a backup.
You need to install an OS before any volumes will appear there. If the installer doesn't show any volumes as available, use te Disk Utility to create a new partition.

Restart with the Command and R keys held down, and run the installer from there.

The question is “Select the system you want to use to start up your computer?”
There is nothing in the blank box to choose from.
