Mail preview on bottom?

Hello, my new MacBook Pro has Catalina 10.15.7 and Mail 13.4. There doesn't seem to be a Classic View or Preview on Bottom option -- just Preview on Side, which isn't preferable for me. Is there a workaround for this?

Apple mail preview pane missing I do not have a preview pane in Mail any more. In Catalina 10.15.7 It is not at the side, and does not appear however the \View\use side preview drop-down is ticked. dragging the sides of the wind has no effect. If I follow forum instructions and try mail\Preferences\Viewing\ use classic layout (box ticked) I am hampered by there being no "use classic layout" option in my Mail preferences, or any other mail menu. I know that Apple changed Mail to put the preview at the side, but it has been completely removed from my iMac. Has anybody any suggestion how I can unbreak Mail? Ta Frank

Moving Mail Preview Pane to Bottom I just got a new computer with Big Sur, Mail v14.0 and I can not find an option to move the Preview Pane to the bottom of my window, below all my emails. Please help! Also this is very frustrating of a change. Why would apple make things harder for no reason!?

Mail Preview window in Catalina no longer located at bottom of Mail window Mail seems to have lost the ability to preview individual messages BELOW the list of messages, to the right of the mailbox list. Preferences - Viewing no longer includes a "classic view" option either. Is there any way to get the preview window UNDER the list of messages?

Uncheck Mail > View > Show Side Preview and choose "Use Column Layout". It's as close to "Classic View" as Mail 13.4 gets.
