Battery

To maximise my MacBook pro's (M1 256GB 8GB) battery life should I keep it plugged in while using it? Because while we are all quarantined and I have no need to go the college for lectures I have my MacBook sitting on my desk all the time so should I might as well plug the charger to reduce the battery charge cycles to prevent it from damage or general wear and tear from battery use?

in short I just want to minimise my battery cycle count to get the best battery life from my MacBook Pro so what should I do kept plugged in all the time or charge it and use it on the battery power?

thank you for your time : )
