Long-term Battery Life

I just purchased a MacBook Pro. I use it mainly at home and it is easy for me to leave it plugged in. Will this harm the battery? Would it be better for me to use it on battery power and recharge it only when the batter level is below a certain point?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.0

You do not have to micro-manage the battery. Built into the software is Battery Health Management.

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need portability then run on battery only.
