USING A MIDI DRUM-PAD TO TRIGGER GARAGEBAND DRUM SOUNDS

Hi,

To put this in context - I'm a cyber-challenged oldie with a young heart so be gentle with me please. I'm fairly new to G'BAND but am getting there slowly.

I have the latest IOS and G'BAND versions.

I'm using the Digipad DD90 aka HXW Avatar PD705 to midi-control the existing GARAGEBAND acoustic drum-sounds - primarily the 'SO CAL' set. Have managed to get the DD90 and G'BAND talking to each other but have encountered a couple of probs.

(1) While the DD90 works with the 'So Cal' kit, it doesn't work with a latin percussion app that I downloaded from the Apple store i.e. none of the nine DD90 pads triggers the latin percussion. Can anybody tell me why this might be and if there's a work-around?

(2) When using with the SO CAL G'BAND kit, two pads play the same cymble - is it likely that I can get round this too?

The DD90 manual does not address the subject and I can't find any video tutorials on YOUTUBE.

Some guidance would be greatly appreciated thanks.
