You've created a Family Share, invited your son to join it, and he has done so ? If you and he have, he can download your past purchases (if you've enabled sharing of them, if they are still in the store, if you haven't hidden them) : Share App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple Books purchases with Family Sharing - Apple Support
