Why don’t I get a settings icon?

I’m trying to set up my Apple Watch, it tells me to touch the crown and then click on the settings icon. However, when I do that I don’t get a Settings icon.

On iPhone

Open the Watch app on your iPhone
Tap My Watch (bottom left)
Tap App View, select List View

On Watch

Press the Digital Crown, to view the App List
Scroll down using the Digital Crown to Settings (represented with a Gear icon)

Note: the apps are alphabetically ordered
