Why am I getting notice that says my Apple ID & phone # is being used for iMessage and FaceTime

This usually appears when you sign into iMessage or FaceTime on another Mac, iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch for the first time. I believe the idea is that if it appears unexpectedly, it's possible someone else is using your Apple ID, in which case you'd need to change your password. However, I've seen the notification at other times — like after updating a device. To be sure, you could check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in.
