Bought second hand ipad that needs reset activation code

Hi,

We have purchased a second hand ipad for our child.

We have tried to contact the previous owner but they cant fix the problem.

I want to backup this ipad from my itunes.

Help!

if the iPad still has the old owners details on, then you would need their details.
