Most of MacOS Big Sur is a "universal binary". It contains code in both Intel versions and Apple-Silicon versions, and the correct version for your particular Mac is selected at runtime.


If you have an Intel Mac, iOS App Installer is not likely to do anything at all. But making a special case for it is unnecessarily complex.
