I'm very new to owning a MacBook Air (M1 1 week old). I received the update link but after reading all the horror stories I am afraid to install. I'm running a pretty vanilla system right now, only installed Office 365 and Xcode.
I updated my new MBA almost as soon as it had completed the out of box setup a few days before Christmas. No problems whatsoever, no reason to be afraid of the update.
I have a MBA M1 and updated from 11.0.1 to 11.1. I had no issues. Just a slow process.
Ok, I did it piece of cake. Took 15 minutes. I plugged in the USB for power and re-booted before I installed giving
me clean environment. That's what I do with Windows installs. Thanks for giving me the push.
