Home Pod suck on configuring

Hello. I just got my HomePod and set it up and playing music and listening to Siri works fine. But, whenever I go into the home app, it says configuring and additional settings will be available soon. It has been doing this for the past 5 hours. I tried resetting it multiple times and re-pairing it and nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this?

It seems Apple have some back end issues that might affect configuring new devices. See https://www.macrumors.com/2020/12/25/apple-verification-failed-stuck-configuring/.
