Spinning download circle
Why does the download circle keeps spinning in the top left corner of my phone and I’m not actually downloading anything

Status icons and symbols on your iPhone
That icon show there is network activity and is not limited to actual downloads. If your device is attempting to send or receive any data at all over a network, it's normal to see that icon.
