Admin password
My admin password works to unlock my macbook pro. But it won't work to unlock anything in the "system preferences" for example anything in "security and preferences". I am running Big Sur 11.1.

Yes I am sure. I do not have more than one user account on this Mac. It's the original account after first set up.
I'm able to use my admin password to delete my finger print set-up. But I can't create a new fingerprint set up. (yet another issue).

Are you sure that you are logging into your Mac with a user account that has Administrator privileges? Do you have more than one user account on this Mac or just using the original account after you first set it up?
