airpod pro will not pause music after a phone call has been recieved

Just started using my airpod pros and i think within 10 minutes i found an issue.

when i am playing music the music will pause when i remove an airpod as it should per my settings.

If i am am listening to music and receive and complete a phone call, this feature will stop working until i disconnect and reconnect the airpods.

Hello pete3g,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with your AirPods not pausing music after you receive a phone call. We are happy to share information that may help.

First, try resetting your AirPods using the steps here: Reset your AirPods.

You may also want to check for any updates for your paired iPhone: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You'll want to have a current backup prior to updating.

Take care.

  1. brand new airpod pros, so always
  2. I have only tested (repeatedly) with answered calls.
  3. If i turn off automatic ear detection, it definitely won't pause, not trying to be rude, but if you look at the original case, i am talking about automatic ear detection pausing the music. It works before a call (will pause music when removed from ear) but after taking a call it will not work.

I would bet that if you grabbed a pair off the shelf, or tried with any airpod pros you would see the same behaviour.
