Billing info/ Charges Why do I have to put in my credit card information if I’m only going to download free apps? My 10 year old autistic son likes to play games and he accidentally hits ads and buys things sometimes, so I left my billing info blank on my new phone so that didn’t happen again, and I can still play the games from before that I already had, but I don’t have to worry about him buying anything because it asks for the info and he can just close it out now instead of it automatically charging me.... Now I want to download a new game that is FREE, but Apple insists I still put in my credit card info... is there a way to bypass that option without having to put my credit card in?

Screen time allows you to lock out certain things, like purchases

Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

alternatively you can remove your payment method

Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods - Apple Support
