FWIW, if you are using an M1 MacBook Air it does not work as "advertised".
Hi Phillips, thank you for asking, here it is: fn+F4 = Spotlight (for this now I am using the command+spacebar) and fn+F5 = Dictation, or fn+F6 = Do not disturb - the below screen capture (underlined in red) shows what I mean by 'as advertised'.

FYI: this is my first Apple product ever, and never imagined coming close to own an Apple product (for no particular reason, I was just a regular user of another platform), and the M1 MacBook Air certainly was (is) technologically compelling enough to win me to trial it, it works amazingly well, great device and technology compacted in this form-factor. I am already looking fw for the next gen Apple silicon powered devices, heck I might even get into the apple phones and tablets too.

Please, what is "advertised" mean. F4 would bring up Launchpad and F5 is supposed to do what?
