The Cellular + GPS Apple Watch shares the iPhone's phone number, and the carriers that support the Apple Watch charge a monthly fee. In the U.S. the fee is $10 per month. Here is a list of carriers that support the Apple Watch:

However, many company iPhone plans DO NOT support the Apple Watch.

Check with your Company iPhone plan to see if they will support the Apple Watch.

If your iPhone supports Dual SIMs (a physical SIM and an eSIM), you can get a personal 2nd line for the eSIM from a carrier that also supports the Apple Watch via eSIM
