2 iPhones. 2 Apple watches. One user. Can I wear both watches?

Okay. This is a simple breakdown.

I have the Apple Watch Series 4. I have the iPhone XS Max.

Received the IPhone 12 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 6 for Christmas.

I chose NOT to trade in my old devices because I’m using my old IPhone 7 Plus already as a Video Camera and I am going to use the IPhone XS Max for a second camera now.

My original thought was kind of obvious. Wear the old watch while the new one charges.

But, THEN.... 💡.

Is it possible to connect my Apple Watch 4 to ONLY the Older iPhone. Either one?

and Connect my Apple Watch 6 with ONLY my IPhone 12?

Both watches are GPS/Cellular. I’m not sure if this matters. I’ve already researched this a bit but I’m not seeing anything CURRENT or anything that is this specific use case.

To clarify: I don’t want to SYNC data between them, such as activity, health stuff, phone calls, messages..... but it WOULD be cool to use the Watch as a Shutter, Remote, and other non-data related stuff. Like .... lol. I can’t really think of any other uses at the moment. But. Just camera control while not at my desk, would be cool. I just want to know.

CAN it be done? If so, how?

Here is a simple summary of the device capabilities.

Your iPhones can both support pairing with more than one watch, but you have to select (in the Watch app) which watch you wish to use when you swap. An Apple Watch can only be paired to a single iPhone at any time. To swap a watch to a different phone you would have to erase the watch and setup again on the other phone.

Both watches are compatible with either of your iPhones, but you should make sure they are all on the latest software. I don’t see many reason why your plan should not work. The bottom line is.. go for it, set them up and test. All you are risking is a little time.
