Phone recognizes speaker as headphones

So I have this problem, whenever i connect my JBL GO to my phone (iPhone 8) it recognizes the speaker as headphones. It is very annoying because my phone will then automaticly turn down the volume because it is ”too high”. And also because of this, my health app can’t give me correct information about my listening habits, because it thinks my speaker is a pair of headphones. Can I fix this somehow?

Hi juliaa03,

Thanks for posting. We see you have a question about headphone notifications, and we're happy to see how we can help out.

To clarify, does the message specify headphone volume? You might also receive environmental sound alerts, and it might be normal to receive those if it's related to speaker volume: Track headphone and environmental sound-level exposure in Health on iPhone

If it's showing as a headphone alert specifically, you could try forgetting and then re-pairing the headphones by tapping Settings > Bluetooth, then the "i" next to the speakers, then tapping Forget This Device. Then, Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to see if that made a difference.

If that doesn't help, we recommend getting in touch with the manufacturer of the speakers next.

Best wishes.
