Java SE 6 on El Capitan

I want to uninstall a 2016 version of Java to replace it by the 2014 version (Java SE 6) on a mid2010 MacBook Pro with a Mac OS 10.11.6 - try several things (going to Terminal among them) but none worked.

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.11

Going back to an older version of Java Ok here's the scenario. I made a disk partion and installed el Captain OS on my mac mini. I did it to run Photoshop CS5. Everything went well until I tried to open CS5 and it stated that i need to run Java SE 6. I went to the Java Page and downloaded the new Java update and was still presented with the pop up saying I needed to run legacy Java 6. I found the old Java download and tried all the steps I found online to uninstall Java. I still get this error when I try to install Is there any way around this? Java installer tool from the site won't even show that I have Java of any sort installed .

I followed steps outlined on Apple site using terminal command but when I get to last command (sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Commands/javaws /usr/bin/javaws) it says not permitted ? Any ideas how I can do this ?

How to delete newer Java ? Hello, I need to install an older Java package (2017-01) on my iMac (late 2013) running Catalina. Upon installation, I get a message telling me that there a newer version is installed. I followed a procedure to uninstall it with all Java files and then tried to reinstall the older one. I still get the same message. Please help.

Is it just Java you want to uninstall, then click here, https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp
