Mac mini or new bluetooth keyboard problem

I have a new M1 mini and a new cordless keyboard, space grey.

Now and then the keyboard goes crazy, it works very slowly and repeats keys randomly many times.

Cannot say if this is mini or keyboard.

When I reboot everything is fine, but after a few days this problem appears again.

The mini also reboots itself randomly, yesterday two times when I edited 5 minutes video.

Also when the mini goes to sleep, it won't wake up, at least the display.

Is this normal? I think not. Has anybody else these problems?

Try this:

Turn off WiFi on your M1.

Restart your Mini.

See if the keyboard works and display wakes up.

If it works fine, then change your WiFi router to 5GHz only.

Turn off 2.4GHz WiFi on your router.

Bluetooth 2.4GHz and routers operate in similar frequencies and can interfere.

Using only 5GHz WiFi will probably see a big difference.

If you can, turn off WiFi and use a hardline (Ethernet) to your router - mine has zero issues since I switched over to wired LAN.

Hey there, mkarppa.

We understand that you are encountering an issue where the wireless keyboard will type slowly and keys will repeat randomly. You are also having issues where the Mac mini will restart itself or the display isn't waking as expected.

For the issue with your keyboard, you'll want to make sure there are no nearby wireless interference: If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working with your Mac as expected

Do you see a message after your Mac mini restarts? If so, please check out these articles:

Do you have issues waking your Mac mini each time? Can you tell us how you're trying to wake your Mac mini? That can give us a better idea of what's going on.

Take care.
