Can you turn off/toggle LiDar?

Are we able to toggle LiDar? Or is Apple working on an option to toggle LiDar (assuming if it's even possible)?

I've found its difficult to focus on subjects when taking mirror selfies, for example. Or when taking video or photos through a window - the focus is off and takes a lot of tries to refocus. Could just be me new to it - please respond if you have experienced such issues too.

Thank you.

Hello there! :)

No, LiDAR cannot be manually toggled on or off, and is a full part of your camera ecosystem that seamlessly works with all-other iPhone 12 Pro features.

LiDAR analyzes your environment and identifies each object and their respective distance from the camera sensors so as to provide a full mapping of what's facing your iPhone camera.

It is also used to further improve portraits.

Objects that stand in between may on occasion trigger a focus on that particular object rather than what you originally wanted the sensor to focus on.
